Port Jefferson: A Destination for a Day or a Lifetime – Trailer

26 04 2010

My Senior Seminar project is finally beginning to come to fruition.  Below, is the 30 second trailer designed for this video.  The trailer’s main goal is to inform residents and visitors that a video is on the way, and keep them listening for the final video.  The video is currently in the final production stages, with the finished product finished by Friday, April 30.  The video will then be delivered to the Port Jefferson Mayor and Board of Trustees for final approval before appearing on the website and distributed in DVD form.

Using the Panasonic DVX-100B

30 03 2010

As one of my projects for my Systems Approach to Organizational Training class, we had to produce a video targeted to residents of the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA.  This video is designed to allow the residents the extreme basics required to operate a digital video camera, specifically the Panasonic DVX-100B, which the village owns for their campus television station.  This product was Produced and Directed by Stephen Juliano with narration by Carey Betts.

Senior Seminar Project Underway

20 02 2010

My Seminar Project, Port Jefferson: A Destination for a Day or a Lifetime, is getting well underway.  With the shoot dates of March 8 – 12, 2010 quickly approaching, I have started reaching out to Port Jefferson businesses who may be interested in participating in the project.  I began by sending direct letters to 18 businesses, and posting an update on Port Jefferson’s Facebook Page to encourage Port Jefferson businesses and residents to take part in the project.  After we receive some responses from businesses and residents, I will begin scheduling shoot times for the production week.  I am extremely excited to see this project move in the production phase, and even more excited for the project to begin post-production and editing.  For more information on the project, please visit my “Port Jefferson Project” page.

ECTV-40′s Newest Acquisition!

29 01 2010

ECTV-40Introducing ECTV-40′s newest acquisition!  We finally have a remote bus to use for productions outside of the studio!  Today, Andy WIlliams (Director of Broadcasting) and Carrie Chapman (Office Assistant), and I visited Bristol, PA where we picked up the new production bus for ECTV-40.  It may not look like much now, but we all have very high hopes for this bus.

The first hurdle has already been jumped, we successfully got the bus back to campus!  The next step is to send the bus to Facilities Management who will strip out the seats and prepare it for use as our new “Mobile Teaching and Production Van” (we need a much catchier title for that…).  After it is ready, I will begin working to retrofit the bus for its future use!  I am hoping to have the entire project completed by March, so that we can get a chance to use it before all the seniors on the board (including myself) graduate.

ECTV

We are actively looking for sponsors to have the bus painted and wrapped with the ECTV logo.  If you, or anyone you know would be interested in sponsoring the bus, please contact me at julianos@etown.edu or ECTV directly at ECTV@etown.edu.

I can’t wait to get a chance to work on this bus!  I’ve been looking forward to this since my freshman year at Etown!
